Synaxis of the Archangels & other Bodiless Powers today

The Church today commemorates the Synaxis of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel, Rafael & the other Bodiless Powers.
On the occasion, the Metropolitan of Syros, His Eminence Dorotheos II, on Monday, the eve of the feast day, officiated at a festal Vesper at the Holy Monastery of the Taxiarches, the Archangels, on the Cyclades Isle of Serifos.

Before the Vesper, His Eminence presided over the enthronement of the new Abbot of the monastery, Archimandrite Evdokimos, held with centuries-old ecclesiastical rite and before numerous and joyous faithful.

Moreover, the Archangel Michael is the patron saint of the Hellenic Air Force, with celebratory events held around Greece on Tuesday, at airbases and units, while flyovers of fighter planes took place in some instances.

In a message on the occasion, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that “…with pride and gratitude, we’re honoring today the women and men of our Air Force, who put themselves at risk on a daily basis for the security of our homeland.”
