Ten pre-1917 icons returned to Russian Orthodox Church

Ten pre-1917 Orthodox icons saved and hidden by the Mosfilm studios in Moscow were personally returned this week to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill.

The icons were handed over by the Director General of the film studio Karen Shakhnazarov, with the Russian Patriarch thanking him.

In reply, Shakhnazarov thanked His Holiness Kirill for the latter’s efforts to restore Christian Orthodoxy in Russia.
