The 19th Sunday after the Pentecost celebrated in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau, Moldova
18th October 2020, the 19th Sunday after the Pentecost: Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau.
The arch-pastor was assisted at the service by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the Cathedral Dean, and the clergy of the holy shrine.
The Sunday Gospel fragment read out during the Liturgy speaks about love for one’s enemies (Luke 6: 31-36).
Litanies for the healing of those in sickness and for the strengthening of doctors were uttered during the Liturgy.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Vladimir, Archpriest Vadim Cheibas presented a sermon on the Gospel Reading after the Divine Service. The teaching of the Christ referred to in the evangelical fragment is part of the Sermon on the Mount, where the Lord explains to people that in order to be perfect, we should not limit ourselves to the Old Testament’s 10 Commandments, but extend our love of God on the entire creation.
Metropolitan Vladimir blessed the praying community and thanked the parishioners for sharing the prayers, urging the people to tend to perfection and ascend in faith, prayer, and true love of people.
