The agenda for next week’s Holy Synod meeting
The issue of autocephaly for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will not be on the agenda of next week’s extraordinary meeting of the Church of Greece’s permanent Holy Synod.

According to information gathered by the Orthodoxia news agency, a report on the matter has not been completed by members of relevant committees established by the Holy Synod to examine the issue.

Moreover, the same sources said discussion by Holy Synod members regarding the granting – by the Ecumenical Patriarchate – of autocephaly for the Ukrainian Church will come in October, by all accounts.

An official announcement by the Church of Greece on Thursday said an agenda for next week’s Holy Synod meeting will include the current Greek government’s attempts to change Church-state relations through Constitutional revision. Additionally, the election of three new Metropolitans in a same number of Metropolises and the selection of assistant Bishops for the Archdiocese of Athens will be on the agenda.
