The departure to the Lord of the blessed Archbishop Anastasios Albania
On the departure to the Lord of the blessed Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana, Durrës, and all Albania, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem sent the following condolence message to the Church of Albania:
“With deep sorrow, yet nonetheless with the sorrow of the Lord, who rose from the dead, we have been informed of the departure to the Lord of the Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and all Albania.
Sharing in the God-pleasing mourning of the sister Church of Albania, we pray from the depths of our souls to the immortal King Christ our God, who has authority over both the living and the dead, from the dreadful Golgotha, for the repose of his soul in the land of the living with the righteous, expressing our certainty that ‘I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.’ (2 Timothy 4:7-8, KJV).
For this reason, embracing this message from the Holy and Life-giving Tomb, we remain devoted.
