The Ecumenical Patriarch attended a Scholarly Symposium on Symeon Siniosoglou in Constantinople (Video)
On Saturday, 23 May, a Scholarly Symposium entitled “120 Years Since the Death of Symeon Siniosoglou,” Benefactor of the summer camp ‘Paidopolis’, was held at the Patriarchal Urban Maraslios School in the Phanar, under the auspices of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
At the symposium, which attracted a large audience, introductory addresses were delivered by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi and Aris Tsolakgian.
The speakers were:
Antonios Chatzopoulos: “The Beneficent Activity of the Siniosoglou Family”
Paschalis Valsamidis: “The Establishment and Operation of the Symeon Siniosoglou Girls’ Orphanage on the Island of Proti”
Io Tsokona: “Romanos Diogenes and the Secret of Proti”
Diamantis Komvopoulos: “The Present and Future of the Patriarchal Paidopolis Summer Camp”
