The feast day of Sts Peter and Paul in Cetinje Monastery
The feast day of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul was conciliarly and prayerfully celebrated in Cetinje Monastery on 12 July 2021.
The Holy Hierarchical Liturgy was officiated by Metropolitan Aristarch of Kemerovo and Prokopijevo from the Russian Orthodox Church, while the elected Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral, Bishop Kirilo of Buenos Aires and South-Central America, with the clergy and monastics concelebrated in the prayerful participation of the faithful.
In memory of the meeting next to the right hand of St. John the Baptist, the elected Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral handed over to Metropolitan Aristarch of Kemerovo and Prokopijevo an icon of Saint John the Baptist: – He who points to the Kingdom of Heaven with his hand, so that he may be your guide to the Kingdom of Heaven for you and your flock. Amen, God forbid, for many years, Bishop Joanikije said.
In the end His Eminence Metropolitan Aristarch of Kemerovo and Prokopije thanked for the warm welcome and kind words, blessed all those gathered and presented Bishop Joanikija with an icon as a gift. The feast day’s gathering in the Cetinje monastery continued at the agape feast.
