The Feast Day of the Church of Saint George in Neochorion on the Bosphorus
With traditional modesty and solemn liturgical splendour, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday, 25 April, at the festal, translation-observed commemoration of Saint George, in the Church of Saint George in Neochorion on the Bosphorus, which is one of the dependencies (metochia) of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem in Constantinople.
The service was celebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Arkalochori, Kastelli and Viannos, Professor Emeritus of the University, who was visiting Constantinople, concelebrating with Archimandrite Synesios Stathis of the Holy Metropolis of Kassandreia, Archimandrite Timotheos Railakis-Vranas, Proistamenos of the neighbouring Community of Vafeiochorion, and Protopresbyter Konstantinos Bartholomaios, Proistamenos of the Neochorion Community.
This was followed, in a festive atmosphere, by a generous reception in the hall of the metochion, with the exchange of greetings and felicitations.
