The Feast of the Synaxis of the Theotokos (Second day of Christmas)at the Holy Monastery of the Shepherds
On Wednesday, 26th December 2024 / 8th January 2025, the Feast of the Synaxis of the Theotokos was celebrated at the Holy Monastery of the Shepherds in the village of the Shepherds / Beit Sahour. The celebration included Vespers in the evening and the Divine Liturgy in the morning, both officiated by His Eminence Archbishop Aristoboulos of Madaba, with the co-celebration of the Spiritual Father of the Holy Lavra of Saint Sabbas the Sanctified, Archimandrite Eudokimos, Archimandrite Philoumenos, priests from Beit Sahour and the surrounding areas, and the Hierodeacon Eulogios. The chanting was delivered by Hierodeacon Simeon in Greek and the Community choir in Arabic. The event’s host was the renovator of the shrine, the Hegumen Archimandrite Ignatios, with the participation of many local faithful and pilgrims.
After the dismissal, a procession and prayers were held at the Cave of the Holy Shepherds, followed by a generous reception in the hall.
