On 1 December 2019, on the first Sunday of the Advent of the Nativity of the Lord (24th Sunday after the Pentecost), Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova conducted the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau.
The arch-pastor was assisted at the service by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the Cathedral Dean, archpriest Teodor Tihon, confessor of the First Church Circumscription of Chisinau, archpriest Arcadie Cebanu, cleric of the Transfiguration of the Lord Church in Chisinau, and the Cathedral clergy.
Liturgical responses during the service were provided by the Cathedral Choir directed by Angela Angheni.
During the Small Entrance, Metropolitan Vladimir awarded to archpriest Arcadie Cebanu the right of celebrating the Divine Liturgy with the open Great Doors till the Cherubim hymn.
Having the blessing of the arch-pastor, archpriest Vadim Cheibas delivered the message of pastoral guidance on the Sunday’s Gospel Reading of the Parable of the rich man who collected a rich harvest.
The first Sunday of the Advent reminds of the fast of the patriarchs and righteous people of the Old Testament awaiting the birth of the Messiah, or Lord Jesus Christ. Numerous church-goers, including many children, partook in the Holy Eucharist during the Divine Liturgy.
