The Inauguration of the New Academic Year (2019-2020) took place at the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology at the University of Balamand

On September 3, 2019 the inauguration of the New Academic Year took place at the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology at the University of Balamand. His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and all the East presided over Vespers at the Patriarchal Monastery of Our Lady of Balamand, with the presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Ephrem of Tripoli, Koura and dependencies; His Grace Bishop Dimitrios of Safita; Fr. Porphyrios Georgi, Dean of the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology; an assembly of priests and deacons, faculty, staff and the seminarians. At the end of the service, His Beatitude spoke about the meaning of the spiritual renewal in the light of the Ecclesiastical New Year which coincided which coincided with the beginning of the academic year. Afterwards, the participants went to the Institute and celebrated the Water Blessing Service and listened to the Dean’s message.
