The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece visits the Theological School of Halki
On Thursday, 1 May 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Mr. Giorgos Gerapetritis, visited the Theological School of Chalki. Mr. Gerapetritis met with His Grace Bishop Kassianos of Aravissos, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity of Halki, and was given a tour of the School’s premises and its unique library.
It is recalled that on Wednesday, in a statement after his meeting with the Ecumenical Patriarch at the Phanar, the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs made special mention of the Theological School of Halki. “Our hope is that it will reopen in the future,” he noted, adding: “It will be a very powerful symbol of ecumenicalism, tolerance and culture.”
