The Ordination of Bishop-elect Panaretos of Tamissos to take place on the Sunday of Pentecost
The Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate convened in its regular session on Tuesday, 26 May, and Wednesday, 27 May, under the presidency of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, to examine the matters inscribed on the agenda.
As noted in the official communiqué: “Having examined the canonical letter of release sent by the Most Holy Church of Ukraine concerning His Grace Bishop Epiphanios of Olbia, the Holy and Sacred Synod, upon the proposal of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, elected him Auxiliary Bishop to the Patriarch under the title of the once illustrious Diocese of Hexamilion.
Subsequently, the Synod proceeded with the appointment of the Very Reverend Grand Preacher Panaretos as Exarch in the Patriarchal Exarchate of Lithuania, whom, upon the proposal of His All-Holiness, was elected Bishop of Tamissos. His episcopal ordination has been scheduled for the forthcoming Sunday of Pentecost, 31 May 2026.”
