The Presanctified Liturgy of Great Wednesday at the Patriarchate
On the morning of Great Wednesday, 26 March / 8 April 2026, the last Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts before Easter was celebrated at the Patriarchate.
For this Liturgy, His Beatitude, our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III, went to the Patriarchal and monastic Church of Saints Constantine and Helen, and presided from the throne.
At the beginning of the Service, the Hours were read in orderly sequence; thereafter, Vespers and the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts were celebrated by the officiating priest, Archimandrite Kallistos, with the Hierarchs and other Holy Sepulchre Fathers of the Patriarchate concelebrating in prayer.
The final Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts was also celebrated by the Elder Sacristan, His Eminence Archbishop Isidoros of Hierapolis, upon the Horrendous Golgotha, without pilgrims present.
