The second day of Pascha at the Patriarchate
On 31 March / 13 April 2026, Monday of the Renewal Week, the feast of Pascha was celebrated by the Patriarchate with the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood, in the Patriarchal and monastic Church of Saints Constantine and Helen.
The Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the same manner as that of the night of the Resurrection at the All-Holy and Life-giving Tomb, by the ministering priest of the church, Archimandrite Kallistos, with His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III, presiding from the throne, with the hierarchs and the rest of the Fathers in prayerful participation; together with the Consul General of Greece in Jerusalem, Mr Dimitrios Angelosopoulos, the Consul Ms Anna Mantika, and representatives of the Orthodox Churches, namely of the Patriarchate of Moscow, Archimandrite Vassianos, and of the Patriarchate of Romania, Archimandrite Ioannis Megios.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Patriarchal entourage went to the Patriarchate Hall with joyful psalmody led by the chanter Deacon Efstathios and his assistants, where the Patriarchal fraternal kiss of love took place, and His Beatitude distributed the Paschal eggs to the Brotherhood, the nuns, and all the pilgrims, whose number was increased on account of the ceasefire of the war.
At midday, the Paschal festal meal was set forth.
