This Year’s Graduates of the Patriarchal Great School of the Nation Visit the Ecumenical Patriarch
At midday on Thursday, 18 June, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received the Director of the Patriarchal Great School of the Nation, Mr Dimitrios Zotos, together with this year’s graduating high school students, to whom he presented pectoral crosses as a blessing and encouragement for the successful course of their future lives.
His All-Holiness welcomed the graduates with particular joy and emotion, offering them paternal exhortations and heartfelt advice regarding their future path. He spoke individually with each student, taking a personal interest in their plans and aspirations, and expressed his abiding love for the younger generation of the Greek Orthodox community.
As is well known, His All-Holiness personally presents commemorative crosses exclusively to the graduating students of the Patriarchal Great School of the Nation, thus preserving a long-standing tradition that is considered a special honour for the graduates.
On the occasion of the visit, he presented the students with their commemorative crosses and wished them good health, progress, and every success in their lives.
The Director of the School expressed to the Ecumenical Patriarch the warm gratitude of the entire school community for his constant paternal support and unwavering interest in the Patriarchal Great School of the Nation.
The meeting concluded in an atmosphere of deep emotion and joy.
