Trisagion memorial service in Sofia for the fallen in Bulgaria’s war of liberation

The Bulgarian Patriarchate’s Bishop of Melenik, His Grace Gerasim, who is also the First Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Church, on Wednesday officiated at a Trisagion memorial service for the fallen in the quest for the Bulgarian nation’s liberation.

The memorial service came on the occasion of the 143rd anniversary of the country’s liberation from dour Ottoman rule.

In his message, the Patriarch of Bulgaria, His Holiness Neofyt, referred to a day of joy and pride, one of remembrance and prayer for all of those who gave their life for the liberation struggle.
