Violence against women more pronounced when latter are Christians, in many parts of the world
Today, November 25th, is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, as declared by the United Nations.
According to numerous media reports over the recent period, restrictive measures due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic have caused instances of domestic violence to increase by as much as five-fold around the world.
According to a recent report by the group Open Doors USA, moreover, for a Christian woman in many parts of the world, the risk of violence against her and assaults upon her dignity, even against her life, are even higher.
A survey in the report stressed that 59 percent of women queried in 50 countries say sexual assaults are linked with religious persecution.
