According to numerous media reports over the recent period, restrictive measures due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic have caused instances of domestic violence to increase by as much as five-fold around the world.

According to a recent report by the group Open Doors USA, moreover, for a Christian woman in many parts of the world, the risk of violence against her and assaults upon her dignity, even against her life, are even higher.

A survey in the report stressed that 59 percent of women queried in 50 countries say sexual assaults are linked with religious persecution.
