His Beatitude John X, the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, received Mr. Georgios Kalantzis, Secretary-General of the Department of Religions at the Greek Ministry of Education, who was accompanied by the Greek Ambassador to Syria, Mr. Emmanuel Kakavelatis. The meeting addressed the deplorable crime that had taken place. The Greek delegation expressed the solidarity of Greece—both government and people—with the Antiochian Church. The Secretary-General conveyed the condolences of Greek Prime Minister Mr. Mitsotakis and the Greek government, as well as the condolences of His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos II of Athens, the Greek people, and the Greek Church.
