Greek FM winds up official visit to Turkey
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias wound up an official visit to Turkey on Thursday, after meeting with Turkish leadership, including President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Ankara, as well as with his counterpart.
A day earlier, Dendias met with the Ecumenical Patriarch at Greece’s general consulate in Constantinople.
During a closely watched press briefing by the Greek minister and his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, the former reiterated that Athens wants clear solutions to differences with Turkey, but will not tolerate continued provocations.
Dendias also replied, in detail, to a handful of claims brought up by the Turkish side, with his responses carried live on television in Turkey, and without previous editing possible, something that apparently annoyed the Erdogan government.
