Bilateral meeting between Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Metropolitan Sawa of Poland
On Bright Friday, May 3, 2019, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew met with His Beatitude Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and all Poland. The bilateral meeting followed the Ecumenical Patriarch’s participation in the thirty-first “March of The Living” in Poland, which honors the victims of the Holocaust.
Following the doxology that was celebrated at the chapel of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, Metropolitan Sawa expressed his gratitude to God for the opportunity to meet with the Ecumenical Patriarch. In response, Patriarch Bartholomew highlighted the excellent relations between the Churches of Constantinople and Poland.
Thereafter, the two primates visited the Cathedral of Hagia Sophia in Warsaw, which His All-Holiness laid the foundation stone for in 2015.
