Archbishop of Athens Ieronymos officiates at con-celebratory vesper at St. Demetrios Cathedral of Brahami
The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, on Tuesday afternoon officiated at the con-celebratory vesper at the celebrating St. Demetrios Cathedral, in the same-name south Athens district, also known as Brahami.
Meanwhile, thousands of faithful and pilgrims continued to arrive at the St. Demetrios Cathedral in the central Athens district of Ampelokipi, where the historic and invaluable Holy Icon of the Panaghia Soumela, the Mother of Pontus, remains for veneration until Friday.
The Holy Icon was conveyed to the Athens-area cathedral from a Monastery dedicated to the Panaghia on Mt. Vermio, in northern Greece.
Pemptousia television has reported extensively from the cathedral, speaking with clergymen, faithful and pilgrims.
