Holy Vigil for the Feast of the Virgin Mary of Gorgoepikoos in Milan
On Monday, 30 September 2024, a Holy Vigil was held at the Greek Orthodox Parish of Milan in honour of the Feast of the Virgin Mary of Gorgoepikoos, celebrated on 1st October.
The Vigil was officiated by the parish priest, Archimandrite Fr. Ioannis Batsis. Immediately after, a Blessing of Water service took place for the beginning of the month.
Since 2023, the parish has been home to a large replica of the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary, which was obtained with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Polycarpos of Italy, who holds a particular devotion to the Virgin Mary of Gorgoepikoos.
This replica, a gift from devout Christians, embodies the love and faith of the parish and serves as a refuge and a source of comfort and spiritual support for all the parishioners.
