Bishop of Kyanes officiates at Vespers of Forgiveness service at St. Nektarios Cathedral in Perth

The Archdiocese of Australia’s Bishop of Kyanes, His Grace Elpidios, officiated at the Vespers of Forgiveness on Cheesefare Saturday over the weekend at the St. Nektarios Cathedral in the western coast city of Perth.

During his sermon, His Grace first referred to the importance of forgiveness and then explained briefly the prayer of St. Ephraim the Syrian.

Bishop Elpidios also warned against the passions of sloth, despondency, love of power, and gossip, emphasizing that “during the Great Lent, we have the opportunity to deal with them in a spirit of wisdom, humility, patience and love.”
