Church of Albania expresses indignation over destruction, desecration of Church objects, places of worship

The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania this week expressed its heightened concern and indignation over what it called the repeated destruction of Church objects and places of worship.
The latest incident cited by the Church of Albania involves the shooting of a music video at the National Museum of Medieval Art, in the southeast Albanian city of Korce. The video was shot in front of the priceless iconostasis of Rehova.

The Church also reminded that the iconostasis has still not been returned by Albanian authorities to the Orthodox Church, under the pretext of “preserving” the object of precious heritage.

In an announcement, the Church referred to “…an obvious sign of disrespect for these spiritual values. This environment is completely inappropriate, for the values it reflects, for promoting such a music type.”
