Erdogan again plays to supporters by referring to desecration of Hagia Sophia

Islamist Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the incumbent in the upcoming general elections in the country, again attempted to present the 2020 reconversion of the Hagia Sophia from a museum in a mosque as a “major achievement”, speaking a few days ago.

According to reports, Erdogan stated that “…I keep mentioning where the country used to be and where we have come to. To some people I say Hagia Sophia and they understand… while others don’t. We move forward with those who understand when we say Hagia Sophia and when we say Karabakh,” was the latest insolent quip by the Turkish president, in commenting on the blasphemous reconversion of the greatest of all basilicas in eastern Christendom into a mosque.
