Exact replica of Holy Icon of the Panaghia Paramythia displayed at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Bucharest

An exact replica of the wonder-working Icon of the Panaghia Paramythia has been conveyed for veneration by the faithful at the St. Nicholas Cathedral of Bucharest.

The original Panagia Paramythia, known as the Vatopedi Mother of Consolation, is an 8th century miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary is preserved at the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi of Mount Athos, the semi-autonomous monastic community in northern Greece.

The Holy Icon was placed at the Bucharest cathedral on Sunday by Romanian Patriarchate’s Bishop-Vicar of Bucharest, His Grace Timotei, who detailed the Icon’s history and miracles.
