Great Vespers service at historic Church of the Elevation of the True Cross in Smyrna

A Great Vespers service was held on Sunday at the historic Church of the Elevation of the True Cross in the Bornova suburb of Smyrna, renamed Izmir by the Turkish state, and on the occasion of the great feast day of the Elevation of the Venerable and Life-Giving Cross.
The service was officiated by the Metropolitan of Smyrna, His Eminence Bartholomew.
The cathedral was built during the tenure of Metropolitan Chrysanthos in 1864.
