The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill, on Sunday led a Holy Cross procession to the Monument to Vladimir the Great, in the Russian capital’s central Borovitskaya Square – and after an earlier prayer service at the Kremlin’s Assumption Cathedral.
The prayer service marked the Day of the Christianization of the Rus people, annually celebrated on July 28. The Patriarch also conveyed his best wishes to Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the occasion of his name day.
