March 8 commemorated as Int’l Women’s Day

March 8 is commemorated around the world as International Women’s Day. The Church notes and stresses the contributions of women, especially the Orthodox woman, towards humanity.
In Orthodoxy, a woman is reverently honored in the face of the All-Holy Theotokos, the Virgin Mary, a central figure in the salvation of man.
