The Metropolitan of Messinia, His Eminence Chrysostomos, this week echoed the Holy Synod’s position sensitive issue of Church-state relations, in the wake of the current Greek government’s insistence on changes, namely, that “… dialogue without ‘red lines’ and conditions is not a true dialogue, but a never-ending monologue.”

His statement was included in an open letter sent to the Education Minister, Kostas Gavroglu.

Moreover, His Eminence Chrysostomos said the government’s apparent target was exclusively a change in the payroll regime for clergymen and Church employees in the country.
