Patriarch of Antioch receives Moscow Patriarchate’s head of external church relations, Metropolitan Hilarion

The Patriarch of Antioch and the East, His Beatitude John X, on Sunday met with the Russian Orthodox Church’s Metropolitan of Volokolamsk, His Eminence Hilarion, in the central Lebanese city of Zahle.

Hilarion, who is also the chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, conveyed the best wishes of the Russian Orthodox Patriarch, His Holiness Kirill, to the Patriarch of Antioch.
The two Church hierarchs also discussed the prospect of closer bilateral cooperation between the two Patriarchates, as well as Pan-Orthodox issues.

Additionally, His Beatitude John X expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the Russian Church to the Christians in the Near East.
