Patriarch Porfirije arrived at the Patriarchate of Peć

In the evening hours of 3 May 2022, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije arrived in the Stauropegial Laura of the Serbian Patriarchs – the Patriarchate of Peć .

Their Graces Bishops Vasilije of Srem, Jovan of Šumadija, Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla and David of Kruševac – members of the Holy Synod of Bishops have also arrived in the ancient See of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and tomorrow after the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy they are going to hold a regular meeting of the Holy Synod, as well as the meeting of the Patriarchal Administrative Board. His Grace Bishop of Raška-Prizren kyr Teodosije, Archimandrite Sava – Hegumen of Dečani Monastery, Protosyncellus Nektarije – Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of Bishops, Protosyncellus Danilo – Director of the Patriarchal Administrative Board, as well as Protodeacon Radomir Vrućinić have also arrived during the evening. On that occasion, His Holiness said:

– Here we are again, we came back home again. May God let us always be here, and that everything we think, say and do has its roots here. As this root is very deep in this place, that means that despite storms, thunders, lightning and winds, we are not going to break. If we are not enrooted here, wherever we are, whatever we do and whatever power we seem to carry within ourselves, it is all for a while and short-termed. May God make that all those belonging to our Church, baptized in the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, truly have their roots here. May God bless you, Mother and nuns, who water and cultivate that root. As the Lord says – someone waters and someone cultivates, and thereby we all receive the fruits that feed and nourish us, and which from the very beginning, from Saint Sava, have been feeding and leading us to the eternal Kingdom of the Son of God, Who came into the world, became one of us, endured torments, suffered crucifixion, died on the cross, but showed that darkness of transience and death do not have the last word, but the light and the joy of the Kingdom of Heaven. May the Lord bless you all – You, mother, and all sisterhood, as well as all of us together with You, Your prayers and Your endeavors. Christ is risen!
