SUNDAY OF THE VENERATION OF TH HOLY CROSS IN MONDE – LUWEERO DISTRICT.

At St.Antinios Monde, Rev.Fr Ssempijja Antonios (Dean of luweero), Nuns of St.Mary of Egypt and the Faithful at St.Andonios Orthodox Parish Monde with much Joy received His Grace Bishop Silvester who led a Hierarchal Divine Liturgy after a special service of the Veneration of the Holy Cross.
About the Veneration of the Cross, His Grace preached to the faithful that we Venerate the Cross as we glorify our Lord who suffered on it and gave his Life, for our Salvation.
He also urged the faithful that in faith, love and patience we should lift our Cross and follow our Lord Jesus Christ, by living as good Orthodox Christians and enduring even in problems remaining faithful to the Lord and of good will.
The Bishop also wished a happy Easter to the Christians of other denominations and also expressed his heartfelt condolences for the sudden repose of Archbishop Cyprian of the Roman Catholic Church, whom he said was a God fearing and inspiring developmental leader.
After Holy Liturgy the Bishop visited the Holy Monastery of St.Mary of Egypt where he was warmly welcomed by the Nuns of the Monastery and the children of St.Mary of Egypt Nursery & Primary School.
He thanked the Abbess Mother Maria and her companion Sister Theosemni and others, as well as Rev.Fr. Antonios Mutyaba who joined them, along with the Teachers of the School plus the children, congratulating them for the wondorous work.
