The Contrite Vespers of the First Sunday of Great Lent
In the afternoon of the First Sunday of the Great Lent, 16 February / 1 March 2026, at 2.30 p.m., the Lenten (Compunctionate) Vespers was celebrated, not in the usual order in the still-closed Church of the Holy Sepulchre, but in the Patriarchal and Monastic Church of the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre of Saints Constantine and Helen, with the prayerful participation of the Holy Sepulchre Hierarchs and the other Fathers.
Before its conclusion, the divine word was proclaimed by the Elder Dragoman and Master of Ceremonies of the Patriarchate, Archimandrite Matthaios.
