The Ecumenical Patriarch attended the celebrations in Ankara for the National Day of Turkey
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, responding to an invitation from the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, travelled to Ankara on the afternoon of Wednesday, 29 October 2025, accompanied by the Grand Protosyncellus, Archimandrite Gregory.
The Patriarch attended the official reception at the Presidential Palace in Beştepe and other events held on the occasion of the National Day celebrating the Proclamation of the Republic of Turkey.
Also present at the celebrations, by invitation, was His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, Hierarch of the Ecumenical Throne.
