Ecumenical Patriarch receives Mt. Athos Civil Governor

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Thursday received the Civil Governor of Mt. Athos, Athanasios Martinos.
Cooperation regarding the planned renovations at the Patriarchate’s Halki School of Theology were discussed.

Martinos, a well-known ship-owner and philanthropist, has pledged to finance the works at the seminary, while he also briefed His All Holiness that he will cover the renovation at the iconic Galata Greek Primary School building and the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos, located on the small northeast island of Tenedos.
