Ecumenical Patriarch at the Church of Saint Dimitrios Sarmasikio, where the sanctified spring of Saint Sebastian is found

On the occasion of the Feast of Saint Sebastian the Great Martyr, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew officiated, on Sunday morning, 18 December 2022, the Sunday before the Nativity of Christ, at the Divine Liturgy which took place at the Holy Church of Saint Dimitrios of the Greek Orthodox Community of Sarmasikio (District of Phanar – Golden Horn)

The overseer of the District, His Grace Bishop Adrianos of Alikarnassos, addressed His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, and the Patriarch duly responded, addressing the congregation in Greek and English.

The Ecumenical Patriarch particularly welcomed students from Karditsa, who made an educational trip to Constantinople and the Phanar.

Also, the Ecumenical Patriarch referred to the “Adorer of the City”, Abbot of the Monastery of Tatarni, Archimandrite Dositheos, who for many years went to the Sanctified Spring of Saint Sebastian on such a day and wished him health and many years.
