Patriarch of Serbia Porfirije invited to Corfu by resident Metropolitan Nektarios

The Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxous and the Diapontian islands, His Eminence Nektarios, was among the hierarchs to attend this year’s reverent commemorations in Montenegro in memory of Basil of Ostrog, which are annually held at the historic and dedicated monastery to the saith. The specific feast day attracts thousands of Orthodox faithful and pilgrims from around the wider region.
The worshipful events were officiated by the Patriarch of Serbia, His Holiness Porfirije.

During a Divine Liturgy on Thursday, the Metropolitan of Corfu thanked the Metropolitan-Bishop of Montenegro and the Littoral, His Eminence Joanikije, for the invitation and the kind hospitality extended towards his person, while in addressing His Holiness Porfirije, he invited him to the Ionian Island of Corfu for the annual feast day events and liturgy in memory of St. Spyridonas, the island’s patron saint.
