His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America attends Holocaust Remembrance Day commemoration

His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day attended on Jan. 27, 2020, a commemoration event at the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center in Palo Alto.

The event was co-sponsored by the Oshman Family JCC, the AJC San Francisco, the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco, and the Consulates General of Israel and Greece. The evening included a reception and the Screening of the film Life Will Smile, a compelling 40-minute documentary that tells the story of the complete survival of Europe’s only Jewish community during the Holocaust on the Greek island of Zakynthos.

Also present at the event were His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco, the Honorable Eleni Kounalakis, Lt. Governor of California; Consul General of Greece, Antonios Sgouropoulos; and Deputy Consul General of Israel, Matan Zamir.
