Memorial service at Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi on 12-year anniversary of repose of Elder Iosif

A memorial service was held on Thursday on the anniversary of the 12 years since the repose in the Lord of Elder Iosif of Vatopedi. The service was officiated by the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Simonos Petra on Mount Athos, Elder Archimandrite Elisseos.

On Thursday morning, a Hieratical Service was held at the Catholicos, or main cathedral, of the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi, presided by the Elder Elisseos and accompanied by Vatopedi Elders and other Athonite fathers.

A trisagion prayer was later held at the tomb of the reposed Elder Iosif.

Also, a memorial service for the repose of the soul of the Elder was also held at the Cathedral of the Panaghia Pantanassis, in the Cypriot city of Limassol, officiated by the Metropolitan of Limassol, His Most Reverend Athanassios, one of the reposed Elder’s spiritual offspring.
